Description
Automatic transmission ZF4 HP22, four-speed, with a final overdrive.
The gear selector has seven positions: P - mechanical locking of the output shaft. R - reverse gear engaged.
N - neutral position engagement.
D - enable automatic switching 1-2-3-4-3-2-1.
3 - enable automatic switching 1-2-3-2-1.
2- activation of automatic switching 1-2-1 or engine braking in 3-2-1 mode.
1- engaging only 1st gear or engine braking in 3-2-1 mode.
Distribution of power flows
1st gear
When the selector is moved to position "D", clutches 4 and 11 are locked. Planetary gear carrier 9 is locked to the housing via flywheel 15. Gears 10 rotate as a single unit together with gear carrier 9. When the selector is moved to position "1", clutch 8 is engaged, providing engine braking.

2nd gear
Clutches 4, 6, 7 and 11 are in operation. The sun wheel in engagement 9 is locked, gears 10 rotate as a single unit, flywheel 15 rotates faster than the main shaft.

3rd gear
Clutches 4, 5, 7 and 11 are in operation. Flywheels 15 and 16 rotate faster than the main shaft. Gears 9 and 10 rotate as a single unit with a gear ratio of 1:1.

4th gear
Clutches 4, 5, 7 and 12 are in operation. Flywheels 14, 15 and 16 rotate faster than the main shaft. Gears 9 rotate as a single unit. Sun wheel of gear 10 is blocked.
When a certain speed is reached, clutch 2 is locked and the power flow from the engine goes to the transmission, bypassing the torque converter.

Reverse
Clutches 5, 8 and 11 are working. Gear carrier 9 is locked, changing the direction of shaft rotation. Gears 10 rotate as a single unit.
