Removal


CAUTION: Do not smoke or allow lighted cigarettes or open flames of any type when working on or near fuel related items. There is a risk of ignition of flammable vapors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.


CAUTION: Do not carry or use a cellular telephone while working on or near any fuel related component. There is a risk of ignition of flammable vapors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.


1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. Remove the intake manifold. For more information, refer to Intake Manifold (30.15.02)

3. Disconnect the fuel supply line. Unscrew the bolt.

CAUTION: Some fuel will inevitably spill during this operation. Take all necessary measures to prevent fire and explosion.


Disconnect the fuel line using a special tool.
  • Place an absorbent cloth to absorb any spilled liquid.
  • Squeeze the quick release coupling.

Remove the fuel rail.
  • Remove 4 bolts.
  • Place an absorbent cloth to absorb any spilled liquid.

6. Loosen and remove the fuel injectors. Remove and discard the fuel injector sealing rings.

7. Remove the Schrader valve.
  • Remove 2 Torx head bolts.
  • Discard the O-ring.

Installation


1. Install the Schrader valve.
  • Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
  • Install a new O-ring.
  • Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 6 Nm).

3. Install the fuel rail.
  • Install the fuel injector seals.
  • Lubricate the O-rings.
  • Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 25 Nm).
4. Connect the fuel line to the fuel rail.
  • Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
  • Install the clamp.
  • Tighten the bolt (tightening torque 6 Nm).
5. Install the intake manifold. For more information, refer to Intake Manifold (30.15.02)

6. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.
