Fuel transfer pump (Discovery 1)

Removal

1. Loosen the nuts on the high-pressure pipes on the injectors and fuel injection pump. Remove the pipes.



2. Plug the injector and fuel injection pump fittings.

3. Disconnect the fuel lines from the booster pump.



4. Plug the pipes.

5. Unscrew the two bolts securing the booster pump to the block.

6. Remove the pump and discard the gasket.

Installation

7. Clean the mating surfaces of the block and booster pump.

8. Install the new gasket. Place the pump lever on the camshaft eccentric. Install the pump, tighten the mounting bolts to 25 Nm.

9. Connect the fuel lines to the booster pump. Tighten the mounting nuts to a torque of 33 Nm.

10. Connect the high pressure tubes. Tighten the mounting nuts to 28 Nm.
