Steering Wheel Heating Switches
The heated steering wheel icon in the switch will light up as follows:
- If the steering wheel heating is on, the icon lights up yellow,
- If the steering wheel heating and headlights are turned off, the icon does not light up,
- If the steering wheel heating is off and the headlights are on, the icon lights up green.

The steering wheel has a maintenance-free heating element built into it to ensure even heat distribution around the steering wheel rim. A heating sensor, also located in the steering wheel rim, is controlled by the steering wheel heater module, located under the right steering wheel switch cluster.
The heating element is activated when the driver operates the switch on the steering wheel. The switch provides an input signal to the steering wheel heater module, which responds to this signal by sending an output signal to the heating element. The heater module, using signals from the heat sensors, controls the operation of the heating element, maintaining the surface temperature of the steering wheel at approximately 30°C (86°F).
