Removal


1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. Remove the generator. For more information, refer to Generator (86.10.02)

3. Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner. Remove the bolt.

3. Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner. Remove the bolt.


4. Remove the front crankshaft oil seal. For more information, refer to Front Crankshaft Oil Seal (12.21.14)

5. Remove the generator support bracket. Remove the five bolts.

6. Remove the timing belt intermediate pulley. Unscrew the bolt.

CAUTION: Never work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with special stands.




Raise and support the vehicle.

8. Disconnect the positive cable from the battery. Remove the two bolts.

9. Unscrew the lower oil pump mounting bolts. Unscrew the four bolts.

9. Unscrew the lower oil pump mounting bolts. Unscrew the four bolts.


10. Remove the oil pump.
  • Remove ten bolts.
  • Remove the timing belt cover seal.
  • Remove the gasket and discard it.
Remove the gasket and discard it.


Installation


1.
CAUTION: Make sure the gasket is installed correctly.




CAUTION: Tighten the 10 oil pump to cylinder block mounting bolts before tightening the 4 lower oil pump mounting bolts.


Install the oil pump.
  • Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
  • Install a new gasket.
  • Install the oil pump to the bottom of the cylinder block.
  • Align the oil pump with the studs on the cylinder block.
  • Install the two oil pump mounting bolts as shown in the illustration, but do not tighten them yet.
  • Install the remaining 8 bolts and tighten them evenly. (tightening torque 10 Nm).
Install the remaining 8 bolts and tighten them evenly. (tightening torque 10 Nm).


2. Install the lower oil pump mounting bolts. Tighten the 4 bolts. (tightening torque 10 Nm).

3. Connect the positive cable to the battery. Tighten the two bolts. (tightening torque 10 Nm).

4. Install the timing belt idler pulley. Tighten the bolt. (tightening torque 45 Nm).

6. Install the generator support bracket. Tighten the bolts. (tightening torque 22 Nm).

7. Install the accessory drive belt tensioner. Tighten the bolt. (tightening torque 45 Nm).



8. Install the generator. For more information, refer to Generator (86.10.02)

9. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.
