Accelerator cable (Discovery 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the battery.



2. Remove the pin and the shackle securing the cable to the fuel injection pump lever.

3. Remove the cable adjustment nut from the bracket and pull out the cable.

4. Release the cable from the clip on the engine compartment bulkhead.

5. Remove the pin and the shackle securing the cable to the pedal lever.



6. Remove the rubber seal from the engine compartment bulkhead.

7. Pull the cable towards the engine compartment.

Installation

8. Reinstall the removed parts. Secure the cable pins with new cotter pins.

9. Adjust the cable.
