Steering wheel (Discovery 1)

Attention:

Removal



1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Set the steering wheels to the straight-ahead position.

3. Remove the airbag (if installed).

4. Remove the steering column covers, disconnect the horn wire

4. Remove the steering column covers, disconnect the horn wire


5. Disconnect the current collector connector.

6. Loosen, but do not remove, the steering wheel mounting nut.

7. Remove the steering wheel from the conical seat on the shaft, remove the nut and washer.

8. Release the bundle of wires from the clip.

9. Remove the steering wheel.

Installation



10. Make sure that the steered wheels are in the straight-ahead position.

11. Install the steering wheel, straighten the wiring.

12. Remove the current collector fixing tape.

13. Insert the leads of the current collector and turn signal switches into the projections of the steering wheel hub. Place the wheel tightly onto the shaft cone.

14. Tighten the steering wheel mounting nut to a torque of 50 N·m.

15. Reinstall the removed parts.
