Dismantling
1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
WARNING: Fuel vapors are highly flammable and in an enclosed area are also toxic and explosive. When working with fuel, it is necessary to have a foam type, carbon dioxide fire extinguisher at hand (CO2), gas or powder.
2. Raise the car on a lift.
3. Turn away 2 bolts of fastening of the fuel pump with the filter to a body.
4. Remove the self-tapping screw securing the mudguard to the fuel priming pump with filter assembly. Remove the mudguard.
5. Lower the fuel priming pump and disconnect the electrical connector from it.
6. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the filter housing.
7. Place a container under the fuel pump to collect escaping fuel.
8. Disconnect the fuel tank hose from the sump.
CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing system components, make sure that the surfaces adjacent to the connection points are free of dirt. Install plugs in fittings and piping to keep dirt out of the system.
9. Disconnect the fuel hose leading from the low pressure sensor to the fuel filter.
10. For vehicles with fueled interior heater: Disconnect the fuel hoses and electrical connector from the interior heater pump.
11. Remove the fuel priming pump assembly with filter.
Installation
1. Wipe the connecting parts of the fuel hoses.
2. Install the fuel pump assembly with filter on the body and attach both fuel pipes.
3. For vehicles with a fuel-driven interior heater: Connect the fuel hoses and electrical connector to the interior heater pump.
4. Remove the container supplied to collect the fuel.
5. Connect the wire "masses" to the filter housing.
NOTE: Check the correct connection "masses"to the fuel priming pump with filter assembly.
6. Connect the electrical connector to the fuel priming pump.
7. Attach the dirt shield to the fuel priming pump assembly.
8. Install the fuel priming pump assembly with the filter on the body, screw in the bolts and tighten them to a torque of 10 Nm.
9. Lower the car on the lift.
10. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
